"The strings I use are Ernie Ball (10 - 46 for electric, 12 - 54 for acoustic) - pretty standard stuff. Also, I like using those smaller tear drop shaped picks. I found that my accuracy and speed really improved when I switched over to them.
I have my main effects rig which I use all the time, and keep in a portable flight-case because it's very quick to set up for gigs and sessions. I also have a secondary rig, which is mainly used as a back-up or for more permanent set-ups like when I'm doing a long run with a theatre show. The pedals from 'MI Audio' are worth a mention. These are awesome sounding stomp boxes, they're locally made, and a lot of people are catching on to them. Check them out at www.miaudio.com. . Anyway, as a final thought, even though this has been said by many people - I'll say it too because it's a great point to raise. It HELPS to have good gear, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter what you use or play through - because everybody has their own sound and identity. I believe that most of that comes from the way you play the instrument, the life experiences you've had, and the soul." |
